How we work

LiveWell Gainesville is a private therapy practice that offers you a peaceful, personalized experience in a convenient location to meet your needs. We provide therapy for individuals, couples, families, and groups of all orientations, from teens to elders.

We work from a person-centered, empowerment perspective that honors the significance of who you are and the power of your voice and your choice. We use EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral, and Humanistic techniques.

Our mission is to shine light in dark places, so that everyone who walks through our door can live well in mind, body, and soul.

What the letters mean

Every clinician here is licensed or registered with the State of Florida. The credentials after each name tell you what kind of training they hold.

LMFT

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Trained to work with relationships and family systems as well as individuals.

LMHC

Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Florida’s license for professional counselors. Called LPC in South Carolina and LCMHC in North Carolina.

LCSW

Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Trained in whole-person care, including the practical and social parts of getting well.

Registered Intern

A therapist who has finished graduate school and is completing supervised clinical hours toward full licensure, under a Board-approved supervisor.

EMDR-trained

Completed formal training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing. Three of our therapists offer it.

Coordination of care

We actively coordinate with psychiatrists, general physicians, and other specialists to plan the best care for your mind and body. If you already see a prescriber, we can work alongside them with your permission.

Who we serve

Teens 14 and up, adults, couples, and families. In person at our Gainesville office, and by secure video for anyone in Florida, South Carolina, or North Carolina, with more states coming. Every therapist here offers telehealth.
