Your first visit

You’re in a safe place. It is your story, and we are here to support you as you write your next chapter.

What is your next chapter?

We want all of our patients to feel welcome, safe, and heard. Starting therapy should not feel like an application. Here is exactly what happens.

  1. Call or email the front desk

Call (352) 900-3130 or email Support@livewellgainesville.com. Mikayla, our office manager, replies, asks a few questions about what you are looking for, and matches you with a therapist. If you would like a free 15-minute phone consult with a therapist first, ask and she will set it up.

  2. Complete your intake online

You receive a secure link to our client portal. Fill out the intake forms, consent, and privacy notice before your visit so the first session is about you, not paperwork.

  3. Your first session, 90 minutes

We review your expectations, preferences, and patient rights under HIPAA. We also conduct an assessment of your present distress, mental health history, and resources. Together, we map out your treatment goals.

  4. Keep going, at your pace

Follow-up sessions are 60 minutes, in person or by telehealth. You and your therapist decide how often, and you can change therapists inside the practice if the fit is not right.

The client portal

We use a secure, HIPAA-compliant client portal for intake forms, appointment reminders, secure messages, telehealth links, and payment. Access is granted by the front desk after your first contact. Once you have an account, use the link in any appointment reminder or secure message to log in.

Lost your portal link? Call (352) 900-3130 and the front desk will send it again.

Before your first visit

Can I pick my therapist?

Yes. Ask for anyone on the team page by name. If you are not sure, tell the front desk what you are looking for and they will suggest a match.

What should I bring?

Your ID, your insurance card if you have Aetna, and any paperwork from the portal you did not finish online. If you take medication, a list helps.

Is what I say private?

Yes, within the limits of the law. Your therapist will go over confidentiality and the exceptions at the first visit, and you will receive our HIPAA Notice of Privacy Practices in your intake packet.

What if I am in crisis right now?

Call or text 988, the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline, any time. If you are in immediate danger, call 911. We are not an emergency service.

Ready to talk, or still deciding?

Call or email the front desk. A real person replies, answers your questions, and helps you find the right therapist. A free 15-minute phone consult is available on request.
